Born and raised in Italy, Brunella Lucchi studied foreign languages and literature at the University of Bologna. In 1991 her quest for knowledge drove her from her home country to the US to embark on an exploration of other cultures and perspectives.
Her desire to help people in pain and her passion for the study of the human body directed her to the world of manual therapy. In 1995, she graduated from the Swedish Institute in New York City and started her career as a Massage Therapist. Her dedication to the field of soft tissue therapy led her to study under Paul St. John, an internationally renowned Pioneer in the field of soft tissue therapy and founder of Neurosomatic Therapy.
In 2002, upon Paul St. John’s invitation, Brunella left her thriving New York practice and moved to Clearwater, Florida to join Paul and his team of therapists where she worked full time for the next 20 years and is now still collaborating with him.
Over the last couple of years Brunella began to connect with Body Center to study “Spiral Theory”, an approach that she finds very effective in unraveling postural issues and a tool that she wanted to integrate in her practice.”Spiral Theory” is Shila’s innovative approach to better identify patterns of distortion; it’s based on the relationship between joint shapes and uneven fascial slings, paired with specific functional movement to correct the distortion.
Brunella has also received training in Oov, Active Isolated Stretching, Cranial Release Technique, Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki and Reembody Method among other disciplines. Recently she has completed a seminar series( including MFRI, Unwinding and MFRII) in John Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy, a gentle, highly effective whole body approach to address myofascial pain and dysfunction.
