Structural Therapy & Pilates

At Body Center St. Pete, most of our pilates instructors are certified through the prestigious Kane School of Core Integration in New York City. This elite training program combines traditional Pilates principles with a clinical approach, offering both strengthening and therapeutic outcomes. Whether on the mat or using the Pilates apparatus, our focus is on function, detailed biomechanics, and hands-on guidance, providing your body with the “blueprint” for achieving and maintaining ideal posture.

We’ve seen exceptional results by integrating Structural Therapy with Pilates. Structural Therapy corrects misalignments, and Pilates makes us more functional by sustaining those corrections and reeducating your body’s posture. Each exercise is personalized based on the results of your postural analysis, ensuring that you don’t overwork already strong muscles while neglecting weaker areas. Additionally, we make sure your breathing is functional and not locking you into ineffective biomechanics. With our hands-on approach, we allow you to maintain alignment throughout every exercise, promoting safe and effective movement for every client.

We are committed to helping you restore your body to its natural, neutral state. This is achieved through discovering and activating the deepest core muscles, also known as the inner unit, which includes the transverse abdominis, pelvic floor, multifidus, and diaphragm. An effective inner unit protects, supports, and allows movement to the spinal column by regulating the body’s intraabdominal pressure throughout. By focusing on this core, we teach you that all movement stems from this foundation, creating strength and balance in your body. You may also receive a customized self-care program designed to accelerate your progress.

Our expert team collectively has an array of movement backgrounds. They will provide techniques such as Oov, Yoga, Pilates for Neurological Conditions, Foot Fitness, Breath Awareness, and the Schroth Method for Scoliosis to support your movement journey.
